KNEC, Kenya's national examinations council, partnered with LegitDoc to issue verifiable academic certificates on Avalanche, addressing a long-standing problem with certificate fraud in the country's education and hiring systems. Employers and institutions can verify a credential's authenticity directly, without needing to contact KNEC for manual confirmation, closing the verification gap that previously made fraudulent certificates difficult to catch at scale.

Uruguay has piloted a digital ID program on Avalanche, exploring how a national identity system can be built on blockchain infrastructure to give citizens verifiable, portable digital credentials while giving the government the auditability and control appropriate for a national identity system. Separately, Ava Labs and NEC have signed an MOU to jointly publish a whitepaper on how NEC's biometric FaceVC technology could combine with Avalanche's multi-chain architecture to verify identity and settle stablecoin payments in a single step, without ever putting biometric data itself onchain, an approach designed specifically to address the privacy concerns that come with any biometric identity system.
